Lincoln -Douglass debate site !!!! This is RIGHT where the debate took place.  "Look where you're standing...Chester Copperpot..."

Skyping the fam was the BEST part of Mothers Day!!!    AM SOOOO GRATEFUL for ALL the Mothers & powerful positive influences I have in my life all around me!!! Y'all better remember how amazing woman are!   RESPECT THEM:)
This is from district lunch when we taught Ryan about the gospel!  It was epic!!!!!
When people tell me they don't wanna learn about Jesus my response is something like,
"Seriously?! How do you know if you haven't tried it? You can't have 's'more if you haven't had any yet!"  Geez Willis ๐Ÿ˜‚  ..."You have not been baptized??  Well let's change that" ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜‰
I keep telling them to "come learn more about Christ's restored church upon the earth. This is some GREAT stuff that'll change your life for the better forever!"  No invitation goes wasted!  If any of y'all have people who have the same mindset, my advice to you... KEEP INVITING THEM!  One of these days it'll really click for them & they'll come & be baptized.  I've seen it happen!

FAIR WEATHER vs STRONG ALL-YEAR FAN ...what's the difference ? Take a look to find out...

Went to Chinese place for District lunch last week. Hermana Walton called to this guy who was sitting alone to come sit by all of us. She has no fear.   He came and ALL 9 of us missionaries taught Ryan about the gospel. It was so awesome! He said he's not interested now, but the spirit was SOOOOOO strong & the power God gives us to speak the things needed in the very hour you need them is soooo powerful!!!! I experienced it several times when I opened my mouth to share a piece of the gospel with him along with the other missionaries. It may be scary sharing the gospel sometimes, but God will help us.  I KNOW He will...I've seen it happen with me soooo many times. This is just one of the times I've seen it. Sharing the gospel is so cool! You just feel soooo awesome!

Bert made us apple dumplings and HOLY COW, y'all.   They're AMAZING!!!!! They're among the celestial things I've eaten here in Illinois.

I was reading in D&C 6:36  "Look unto me in every thought; doubt not, fear not." Reminds me of when athletes coaches always say, "keep your eye on the ball! Stay focused!"  We need to look to God and the Savior the same way.  WE MUST KEEP OUR eyes & focus towards the Savior because He's the center of all we do. And it reminded me of one of my favorite quotes: "NEVER let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game".  Don't be afraid that mistakes you make will keep you from the Savior's help, love, & guidance cause it won't.  He LOVES you & He'll ALWAYS, ALWAYS be there to catch us when we fall. He's ALWAYS there to carry us when life's hard. He loves us.

In her recent talk Sis Mulnix talked about "fair weather" testimonies vs  all-the-time solid testimonies and related it to baseball fans.   It's soooo important that we are ALL THE TIME fans of CHRIST and not fair weather fans.  If we're "fair weather" Jesus fans then our testimonies slowly, but surely, falter cause our focus isn't in the place it should be. Like it says in Helaman 5:12 "And now, my sons, remember, remember that it is upon the rock of our Redeemer,  who is Christ, the Son of God, that ye must build your foundation; that when the devil shall send forth his mighty winds, yea, his shafts in the whirlwind, yea, when all his hail and his mighty storm shall beat upon you, it shall have no power over you to drag you down to the gulf of misery and endless wo, because of the rock upon which ye are built, which is a sure foundation, a foundation whereon if men build they cannot fall." When we have that firm foundation (aka our lives centered in Christ), everything else falls into place & we will have a SOLID testimony and surety when trials and storms of life come (which they will--let's be real--they do everyday).  Everything will be ok because we decided before to stand strong and put our faith in Christ. And as we continue to do that Nephi declared:  “Wherefore, ye must press forward with a steadfastness in Christ, having a perfect brightness of hope, and a love of God and of all men. Wherefore, if ye shall press forward, feasting upon the word of Christ, and endure to the end, behold, thus saith the Father: Ye shall have eternal life” (2 Nephi 31:20).  We WILL BE BLESSED & have ETERNAL life!!!

Missionary work is way hard sometimes but it's also so glorious because I feel closer to Christ and Heavenly Father than I've ever been before. Missions are a time where we, as missionaries, get shattered to pieces (our old selfs) and the people God knows we can be  (our new selves) emerge.  We just forgot cause the world tells ppl stupid stuff about ourselves that isn't true.  Our new selves  "RISE ABOVE" the old self and become better. On missions you get to see people change & it's really cool to see them become better,  but you also get to see yourself change and grow, and it's so cool!  Missionaries help others with their eternal salvation, but we are also helping ourselves with our own eternal salvation. God is great.

Illinois is finally warming up --ish haha.
I love it here.  The people here are what make it so wonderful! You meet some of the coolest people on your mission.  And some crazies too haha, but that's life.

I know this church IS TRUE WITHOUT A DOUBT!!!!!!

Love always ,
